
According to Opta's AI supercomputer, an English team that will win the UEFA Champions League of this season is just over 38%.
In anticipation of Friday before the round of 16 and then, the supercomputer simulated the rest of the tournament 10,000 times before Opta published his findings.
Liverpool would be the most likely winners. The Reds have a chance of 20.2 percent to lift the trophy.
Arsenal are the second favorites who go all the way with a 16.8% chance to end the season as European champions in the meantime, the Gunners have a probability of 79% to reach the quarterfinals – where the supercomputer calls them the least likely side to Losses in the round of 16, where the men of Mikel Arteta are confronted with PSV Eindhoven or Feyenoord.
Aston Villa won the European Cup in 1982, but they only have a 1.2% chance of repeating that performance this season.
England has only three teams left in this season's Champions League after Manchester City has left in the play-off round by losing 6-3 to Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe scored four goals against City when Madrid looked like the real deal over two legs. OPTA, however, only assesses Madrid as fifth favorites at the moment.
The men of Carlo Ancelotti receive a shot of 10.5%of adding their 15 titles counting this season, with Barcelona (12.7%) and Inter Milan (12.4%) assessed as slightly more realistic contenders.
Paris Saint-Germain (8.8%) is apparently the sixth probably team that conquers Europe this season, while Feyenoord (0.6%) has the slankest chance.
Interestingly, Bayer Leverkusen (4.6%) is seen as stronger contenders than German rivals Bayern Munich (4.2%).
Once signed, the round of 16 games over two legs between 4 and 12 March takes place.
The quarter -final first legs are then held on 8 and 9 April, with the return games being played the next week.
The semi -final of this season starts in the last week of April and ends on 6 and 7 May.
Munich will organize the final in Bayern's Allianz Arena on 31 May.
