Aiemann Zahabi was paid to mimic Jose Aldo 14 years before being booked to fight him at UFC 315

Aiemann Zahabi has been set for the greatest fight of his career to date on UFC 315, while he wants to crack the top 10 of the Bantam weight ranking.

After an extremely impressive five combat switch in which Aiemann Zahabi gave victories over Pedro Munhoz and Javid Basharat, the Canadian got the greatest chance of his career.

Earlier this week it was announced that Zahabi is going on Jose Aldo on UFC 315 on 10 May in Montreal, Canada, while he wants to score six victories in a row and bring down another UFC legend.

Jose Aldo fought for the last time at UFC 307 when he was beaten controversially by Mario Bautista, which led to calls to the former featherweight champion to step away from fighting at the age of 38.

Aiemann Zahabi was paid 14 years ago to simulate Jose Aldo for Kenny Florian Fight Camp

'The King of Rio' will fall as one of, if not the best 145 pounds of all time after more than 5 years as the champion of the division, so Aldo scored a number of incredible finishes.

During his reign as the featherweight champion, in 2011 the Brazilian fought against Kenny Florian and none other than Zahabi was brought into the camp of Florian to imitate Aldo.

“I just want to say, I was in Kenny Florian's training camp 14 years ago, I pretended to be Aldo for the whole camp, I went back between Boston and Montreal with Kenny, so Kenny, this one for you darling,” ” Zahabi revealed on the Ariel Helwani show.

Unfortunately for the Florian team he could not deduct Aldo and scored the Brazilian a unanimous decision gain.

“We're going to get him this time, Kenny. Kenny just sent me a message and said: “Get him for me, you have to get him for me,” Zahabi continued.

Could this be the last fight of the career of Jose Aldo?

Bizarre enough, even though he is only 14 fights in his professional career, Zahabi is only a year younger than 'The King of Rio'.

The majority of fans are surprised to still see Aldo competing in the UFC at this stage in his career and after his loss for Merab Dvalishvili in 2022, it seemed that Aldo was running away from his MMA career.

Prior to Dominick Cruz's recent pension, fans called for a fight between him and Aldo, as a pension fight for them both.

And although the Brazilian still looked competitive since he returned to the promotion, his days are certainly numbered and another disappointing loss could see him pick up the gloves once and for all.
