Jordan Henderson and his Ajax side have seen the title of Eredivisie slip away from their handle after admitting a 99th minute equalizer in their penultimate match of the competition season.
The former captain of Liverpool wanted to eliminate another league title in his career after he had beat the Reds to the Premier League title in 2020. It would see his side improve in their fifth place last season.
Henderson and Co had been in pole position to win the competition, which would have been the 37th league title in the history of the club.
They were on the edge with five more games and only need six points to confirm the competition title. However, PSV is dedicated drivers and won their last five games.
But it went down after their victory at Willem II on April 13. They had won their last three games – including against PSV – but members of the defeat through Utrecht, who themselves chased a Champions League place.
The 4-0 Thrashing caused a powerful collapse, with Ajax since then picked up only two points in their four games and the league title is now over this weekend.
After the defeat of Utrecht, Henderson's silk with Sparta Rotterdam, a 95th minute goal and a desperate Eilgia of your reign only needed two minutes later.

Henderson, who was part of Thomas Tuchel's first English team earlier this year, played 90 minutes in all four games, apart from Rotterdam, when he did not stand up at all because of the suspension.
Now Ajax has to hope for a victory against Twente on the last day, where PSV needs a victory over Rotterdam to secure the title. They also have a considerably better goal difference, which means that a draw for Ajax would not be enough.
In the rankings, Ajax has 75 points and PSV 76. Henderson's men had been clear nine points with five more games.
Henderson, now 34, joined Ajax at the beginning of 2024 of Saudi Pro League side Al-Attifaq after his controversial relocation from Liverpool. He is the skipper on his part.
