Ajax wants to poach the right hand of Arne Slot Johnny Heitinga as the Amsterdam club in search of a new manager.
Heitinga, the former Everton defender, played an important role in Liverpool's Premier League title Triumph, but looks ready to take on a management role of the first team next season.
The 41-year-old held an interim role at Ajax in 2023 before he came to West Ham with David Moyes. The now Everton -Baas spoke very much about his coaching capacity.
Last year he became Headhunted by Slot to be part of his back room team and leads training sessions and helps in the analysis, take on the role of mentor for various players, including Ryan Gravenberch.
He also speaks different languages, including Spanish, which has been useful for Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
West Brom considered taking him in the middle season, but he was dedicated to winning the Liverpool competition.
When asked about the possibility that Heita would leave last week, Slot said: 'If Ajax were smart, they would consider him. He is ready to take on such a job.
“If John is smart, he would stay another season.”
Ajax recently burned in the Dutch Eredivisie title race and separated the company with Italian boss Francesco Farioli.
