Ajax striker Chuba Akpom is the subject of interest from a third of Ligue 1 clubs, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The Englishman, who previously played for Arsenal and Middlesbrough, among others, currently plays for Ajax. This season, however, he is not playing in his usual position under Francesco Farioli. Instead of playing through the middle, he plays wide. Despite playing in an unfamiliar role, he still has seven goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, but the Englishman is said to be open to a move away from the Eredivisie club in January.
Akpom is said to be open to a move to Ligue 1 in January and there is certainly no shortage of interest. For various reasons, many French top flight clubs are looking to sign a striker next month and many have identified the Ajax man as a target. RC Lens, Stade Rennais, Lille OSC, OGC Nice, FC Nantes and AS Saint-Étienne are all interested in the player.
