2025 could be a big year for Barcelona in terms of turnover, as several heavyweights are expected to move in the next eight months. Ronald Araujo is tipped to leave for Juventus in the coming weeks, while the big exit in the summer appears to be Frenkie de Jong.
De Jong, like Araujo, is out of contract in 2026, so he would only have one year left on his contract when the summer arrives. Barcelona will try to sell if he does not agree to an extension before the end of the season. Although he is strongly linked to several European giants, he could also end up in Saudi Arabia.
According to Relevo, Al-Ittihad made the move for De Jong in recent days, with discussions taking place between club officials and the Dutch midfielder's representatives.
Ramon Planes, who was at Barcelona from 2018 to 2021, will lead the chase as Al-Ittihad's sporting director. It is suggested that a deal would be in place in the summer, and it will be interesting to see if this can be pulled out by the Saudi giants.
