Al-Nassr manager Stefano Pioli is getting closer to an exit from the club because of his damaged relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Pioli only took the reins in the Saudi club in September 2024, after firing Luis Castro.
Al-Nassr is currently third in the Saudi Pro League table and his 10 points on drift from leaders Al-STIHAD, after a series of only two competition wins in their last five games.
However, it is not considered the results that Pioli have put on the edge, but rather strenuous relationships with people in the club are.
According to Sportitalia, a gap has formed between the Italian and the star man of Al-Nassr, Ronaldo, who left the manager on the edge.
If Pioli has to be relieved of his duties, it is believed that Roma is waiting in its wings to pick up Pioli – who led AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2022 – with Claudio Ranieri wants to leave the Giallorossi at the end of the season.
The Italian has also been associated with the empty position in Juventus, after firing Thiago Motta, but Roma leads the race.
The tensions between Pioli and Ronaldo started to act after the manager's decision to replace the legendary attacker in the 3-1 victory of Al-Nassr at Al Kholood two weeks ago.
The captain of Portugal opened the score after just four minutes before his side raced in a 3-0 lead.
Pioli then decided to withdraw Ronaldo, much to the surprise of the striker, while Al-Nassr drove to the full-time whistle.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star were visibly angry with the decision when he stormed the tunnel after a short discussion with the boss.
Their relationship is apparently seen by the decline since Pioli now reported that they are at borrowed time.
