Alan Pardew has opened his notorious 'Dad Dance' during the FA Cup FA Cup FA Cup defeat of Crystal Palace by Man United.
When wing player Jason Punche made the score on the 78th minute of the game, Pardew chose to prove to prove and throw his best hip-Wegende movements instead of the usual fist bumping.
But only three minutes later United made it right by Juan Mata, so that half of Wembley are silent. Although they were up to 10 men, the Red Devils won 2-1 in extra time through a Jesse Lingard Screamer.
Pardew has previously admitted that he regrets the dance and that he 'should never have done it', despite his iconic reputation on the internet.
And now the 63-year-old has detailed the thinking process behind his reaction and insisted that it was not premeditated.
“I do the dance after the goal and everyone remembers that super-soft-mo-version,” Pardew de Telegraph said.
“But it literally happened and was spontaneous. Me and my younger daughter had tampered, dancing, and she taught me to do some movements and it must have been in my head. '
Pardew then explained that he received 'annoying' recoil from people who laughed at him because they believed that he had planned the dance before the game.
He added: 'Of course, what really hurt me afterwards were people who said I had planned it in advance. A few nasty things were said. But it wasn't something like that. It was just a spontaneous moment. '
2016 was the third time in the career of Pardew as a player or manager that a FA Cup-Tweede took place on his neck.
The Englishman was also on the losing side as a player for Palace in 1990 and when he was in charge of West Ham in 2006.
Pardew was rejected as a palace manager in December 2016, seven months after his antics in the final.
Since leaving Palace, he has managed West Brom, ADO The Hague in the Eredivisie and, most recently, Greek outfit Aris Thessaloniki.
Pardew also juggled his duties as technical director and manager of the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia between 2020 and 2022.
