Alan Shearer names Premier League star who is ‘very unlucky’ to miss out on Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad

Alan Shearer has called one Premier League star who, according to him, had 'very bad luck' to miss the first English team of Thomas Tuchel for the World Cup qualifications of 2026, which was unveiled on Friday.

There were some remarkable returns, new names and absent, where Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford each earned their first national team selections in more than a year.

Myles Lewis-Skelly was also mentioned in his Maiden Three Lions Squad, while then Burn van Newcastle, 32, was first recorded, as was predicted exclusively for postport.

But there was no room for Morgan Gibbs-White in the inaugural team of Tuchel, despite its clear form for Nottingham Forest this season, who are third in the table and are in the fight to play Champions League football next season.

Nuno Espirito Santo's No 10 has scored five goals and registered this period of seven assists in the Premier League, but was still overlooked for the World Cup qualifications of the Three Lions against Albania and Latvia.

Shearer argued that Gibbs-White should have made the team, especially in the light of the recording of other players who, according to him, did not do much to earn a place.

“He has very, very unhappy not to be in the English team, if you look at other players who are, if you look at his performances this season,” the former Newcastle striker told matches of the day.

“He has been one of the excellent players Nottingham Forest. But if he continues to play as he is, and there is no doubt that he can, he will be in the English team in the future. I have no doubt about it. '

Gibbs-White made his senior English debut in August 2024 after he was called by interim boss Lee Carsley and was appointed in back-to-back squadrons among the Irishman.

But he will have to wait until the summer for his next opportunity to put on an English shirt.

With regard to the rest of Tuchel's team, Kyle Walker retained his place in the back line after his transition on loan to AC Milan, despite the struggle of shape this season. In the meantime, since March 2023, Reece James hope to make his first outing England.

Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Tino Livramento, Jarell Quansah, Burn and Lewis-Skelly completed the defense.

Cole Palmer held his place in midfield despite recent control, while Jude Bellingham, Ebereechi Eze, Declan Rice, Curtis Jones and Henderson joined him.

There was also a place for Morgan Rogers, who made his first two performances in England in November against Greece and Ireland.

Harry Kane is expected to lead the line and worked with Tuchel in Bayern Munich last season.

Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Bowen, Dominic Solanke and Rashford complete the forward line.

There were many remarkable absences, some of which can be placed on injury. Bukayo Saka, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kobbie Mainoo, Lewis Hall and Noni Madueke belonged to those who missed with confirmed injuries or fitness issues.

Tuchel spoke with England, exile Ben White, who is fit again after a three-month resignation, but the Arsenal star is not in his team, which has only played 102 minutes since November. There was no indication of how their conversation went.
