Alejandro Garnacho agents spotted at Chelsea as Man Utd transfer doubts raised

Alejandro Garnacho's agents attended Chelsea's victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.

Fuel was added to the fire over the possibility of the Blues making a move for the young Manchester United striker when Lead3rs agency duo Carlos Cambeiro and Quique De Lucas were spotted in attendance in West London. The Blues are said to have inquired about the possibility of doing a deal with United.

The 20-year-old still has three years left on his contract, but the Red Devils chiefs appear open to selling the Argentina international on the right terms. It has been suggested that United could be tempted to offload Garnacho given the profit and sustainability boost (PSR) that could be provided by his sale.

However, United have already rejected a £40million bid from Napoli for Garnacho's services. Antonio Conte's side focused on the young winger following the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.

Instead, the Serie A side were told it would cost £60 million to secure the young star's signature. Garnacho, meanwhile, is said to be open to the transfer, but his current club has a strong negotiating position, with the player tied up until 2028.

The youngster is one of United's top scorers, behind only Amad, having netted eight times this season. However, he has struggled to find a place in Ruben Amorim's starting lineup.

Garnacho made just one start in the club's last seven matches and was left out of the squad entirely for United's win over Manchester City. The transfer-linked star last scored for United in Amorim's second match against Bodo/Glimt.

Despite Garnacho's struggle to firmly break into Amorim's plans and cut ties with the club, the 39-year-old head coach revealed how he saw the ace's future at Old Trafford. Amorim revealed that his leadership must learn a new role.

“He has talent,” Amorim said. “He has to learn to play in a different position. He has to play better indoors.

“He improves a lot in the recovery position when he doesn't have the ball. But that sometimes puts him not in the right place to make transitions like in the past. I prefer to defend and then build up with all team to reach the final third.

“He's finding the best way to play in this system. He's improving in training. He started the last game. Let's see tomorrow. I think he's changed the way he sees himself.”
