Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho was only mentioned among the replacements for the Europa League final before he met Tottenham in the 71st minute -and his brother was not impressed
Alejandro Garnacho has wondered if he will be a Manchester United player next season -after his brother had made his anger with Ruben Amorim Clear on social media after their Euroopa League final defeat.
United remained astonished on Wednesday evening by a 1-0 loss against Tottenham, with Brennan Johnson scored the only goal to seal the victory for the men of Ange Postecoglou in Bilbao. United dominated the possession but was toothless of attack and fell to beat.
That ensures that there will be no Champions League football next season, no silverware for a third campaign and that this term has little a disaster. Amorim's decision to place all his eggs in the Europa League basket has been blown up in his face.
The Portuguese raised eyebrows with his team selection in Bilbao, in particular that Garnacho left on the couch, with Mason Mount and Amad both kinking, in support of Rasmus Hojlund. It came after Garnacho had fueled speculation about the falling of the first team after he shared an Instagram snap from him that scored in the FA Cup final of the previous season.
And while Ally McCoist called on co-commentary to have Garnacho introduced during the break after a turgid first half, the Argentinian international was not introduced until the last 20 minutes of the game.
The social media capoles of the young person have put him in trouble earlier, and his brother Roberto – not a stranger to be controversy since the relocation of the family to Manchester – caused a commotion after placing a destructive criticism after the final: “Working as no one else in the last two of the last two doelen. Wow, hahahaha “.
The Argentina star later echoed his brother's feelings during an interview after the game, while giving an update about his future of Manchester United.
“I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes,” the Argentinian told the media.
'Don't know. I will try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens. “
When starting Mount on Garnacho, Amorim said: “I feel that Mason Mount is currently giving us a different balance. Because he was really attacked, but also the way he compactes the team, he is an extra midfielder.
“You know that Tottenham has placed all full-backs and midfielders inside with many people who overloaded that space, so my thinking was to have possession and a right foot in that position is really important.
“And to also have speed on the couch, because we have Amad on the other side. We have to have legs to change the game.”
