Alejandro Garnacho’s transfer stance with Napoli preparing for Man Utd talks

Alejandro Garnacho is open to a move from Napoli as the Italian club begin work on a deal to land the Manchester United star.

The Italian club have already made moves to raid the Premier League side as they look to strengthen their ranks in January. Napoli are ready for a cash injection but need to find a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is set to join PSG after making it clear he wants to leave.

Antonio Conte and the people of Naples have their sights set on Garnacho, whose future in Manchester remains unclear. His role under Ruben Amorim is still up in the air and the club's financial situation means they are willing to listen to offers, even for their top assets.

Garnacho himself is open to an Italian move, the Independent reports, and any potential sale would be a pure win for the Red Devils as they appear to remain on the right side of PSR rules.

The two sides have discussed a fee just under £40 million as proposed by Napoli. However, United want to ask for a fee similar to the one PSG just paid for Kvaratskhelia, which is around £70 million. Personal conditions are not expected to pose a problem.

Garnacho hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons when he was dropped, along with Marcus Rashford, following United's 2-1 win over Manchester City in December. Amorim said at the time that it was due to selection reasons rather than injury, but the Argentine has since returned to the squad.

Those at Old Trafford could see a number of their frontrunners leave this month, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe making it clear that they will listen to offers for every player in their squad as they try to sort out their financial situation.

Marcus Rashford is another man linked with an Italian switch. His future at Manchester looks uncertain and AC Milan are among those keen to loan the striker out even if they face competition from other European teams.

Kobbie Mainoo, another bright light, is attracting interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich. The academy graduate had a breakthrough season last season and is in the middle of contract talks with the club as he looks for a big pay rise, which could be a problem.
