In conversation with Tribalfootball.com, however, Tulli says that his most memorable time was at Triestina, where his shape earned him a switch of € 650,000 from Roma to Lecce. In his time in the B series B, Tulli worked with some of the greatest identities in Italy, including Giorgio Chiellini, Stefano Pioli and Pietro Vierchowod.
In this exclusive chat, Tulli looks back on his career, shares stories about his time at various clubs and gives his opinion about modern football.
The most memorable moments in his career
When he was asked about his best experience as a player, Tulli did not hesitate to bring his time to Triestina to the attention:
“The best experience for me was at Triestina on a personal level. It was a fantastic time and I remember so much of that period, especially the moment at which I scored the goal that ensured our survival in the competition. Professional and personally that was the highlight of my career. “
Playing with Paolo Zanetti in Vicenza
At Vicenza, Tulli had the opportunity to play with Paolo Zanetti, now the Hellas Verona head coach,:
“It was a pleasure to play with Paolo. It was my first experience outside of Roma, and I was still a young player at the time. Paolo was a strong player with a great personality, and I have very positive memories of him. As a coach he does fantastic work. Despite challenges such as losing important players, Verona competes well in Serie A, a tough competition. I wish him and the team the best. I am sure that his future looks rosy as a coach. “
Learning from Roberto Donadoni in Livorno
During his time at Livorno, Tulli worked under the legendary Roberto Donadoni. Looking back on this experience, he said:
“It was a privilege to work with a coach like Roberto. He was extraordinary in every way: professional, prepared and inspiring. I have learned so much from him, both as a player and as a person. With his wealth of experience, especially from his time at Milan, I hope he will return to management soon, because he deserves it. “
Giorgio Chiellini: from young talent to leader
Tulli also had the opportunity to play with a young Giorgio Chiellini in Livorno:
“When I played with Giorgio, he just started, but his determination and physical strength immediately stood out. He trained hard, earned his place in the basic setup and showed incredible leadership qualities. It was clear that he would achieve great things. As a director I believe that he has all the qualities to succeed and to continue to contribute to Juventus. “
About the current struggle of Salernitana
As a former Salernitana player, Tulli expressed his disappointment about the recent form of the club:
“Salernitana is close to my heart and I follow them closely. It is heartbreaking to see the club in this situation. The city, the fans and the history of the club deserve so much more. My former teammate Breda, who is now a coach, has all the qualities to turn the tide. I really hope they can recover and fight for better objectives. “
Working with Pietro Vierchowod in Triestina
Tulli briefly worked with Italian football legend Pietro Vierchowod during a turbulent season at Triestina. He shared his opinion about the experience:
“Pietro is a legend, not only in Italian football, but worldwide. Unfortunately I didn't have much time with him as a coach, because we often changed manager because of poor results. Yet I remember him as very detailed and professional, even if it was a tough year for the team. ”
In collaboration with Stefano Pioli and Raja Nainggolan
At Piacenza, Tulli worked under Stefano Pioli and played with a young Raja Nainggolan. Looking back on those experiences, he said:
“I worked with Pioli twice: first at Salernitana and later at Piacenza. He is a fantastic coach and an even better person. Unfortunately my time at Piacenza was marred by a knee injury, but I still appreciate the experience. His staff was incredibly prepared and I am not surprised by his success today. ”
On Nainggolan:
“Raja was not only a great player, but also a good friend. Even then his talent and determination were clear. Although he had to deal with many challenges, he has achieved so much in his career. He is a great person with a big heart, and I am sure he has more to offer football. “
Memories of Lecce
One of the striking chapters from Tulli's career was his time at Lecce, which has a special place in his heart:
“For me, Lecce was one of the most important and most beautiful experiences. Initially it was difficult to adjust, but after a while I grew in my role. The only thing I regret is that I left the club when I played well and scored crucial goals. An unforgettable moment was my goal against Bari, which fans still remind me to this day. ”
As a former Lecce player, Tulli is optimistic about the chances of the club this season:
“Lecce has all the means to survive. The team is well organized, with a clear philosophy of attack under Marco. Their passionate fans always support them and I believe they will achieve their goals this season. “
Life after football
Nowadays Alessandro Tulli focuses on coaching and developing young players:
“I run my own academy, where I work with young players on technical skills and coordination. Helping to improve them and enjoying football gives me enormous satisfaction. In recent years I have devoted myself to this work and I hope to continue to support young players in realizing their dreams. ”
