Sean Strickland brings some extra firepower to Sydney this weekend, Australia in an attempt to reclaim middleweight gold.
In the main event of UFC 312, Strickland returns to Australia to try to recapture the middleweight title of Dricus du Plessis who withdrew him to UFC 297.
Both men will have to make adjustments for this fight because of how close their first meeting was, but if there is one thing, this will remain the same, this is the recording of one of the biggest stars in the sport in the corner of the American.
Alex Pereira took the walk with Strickland, his former opponent, last January and he will do it again on 8 February, despite the fact that his next light heavyweight title defense will take place next month on UFC 313.
'Patan' is clear to support his training partner, but there can also be a frame behind his faithfulness with the challenger.

Sean Strickland says that Alex Pereira Drus du Plessis “hate” for some reason or another
In an interview with Vechtweek with the UFC, Sean Strickland revealed that Alex Pereira is not only motivated by his friend to help a hand this Saturday evening.
The light-heavyweight champion is an intimidating presence to have in your corner and that led to a number of short but fascinating moments when he and Du Plessis attracted each other's attention in the aftermath of UFC 297.
Both title holders have talked about the potential to go up or down to secure a second belt, but Pereira's striving for the South African supposedly goes deeper than his search for more gold.
Strickland said that 'Patan' has taken over a personal number of 'Stilleknocks' for a reason he is not aware of and that things are not too good for you when you came to the bad side of the champion.
“I think Alex is an angry M ———. As Alex is angry and for some reason he hates Dricus. As if I don't know what you have done to him, but he f – hates your guy, so it's the way he looks at Dricus, sometimes I have something like that: 'guy, I fight against him dawg, as if it is I am guy'.
“But yes no, Alex just has that hatred in his heart and he is a good guy, so he is there, I had something like that:” Let's get up, let's get it in. “
Dricus du Plessis and Alex Pereira could meet further
Perhaps at a certain point in their career, Alex Pereira gets the chance to share the Octagon with Dricus du Plessis. Even if 'Stillnocks' holds the title of the middleweight this weekend, he is certainly not a shortage of challengers at 185 pounds at the moment.

Pereira, on the other hand, would like to look together to put together a super fight after his upcoming competition with Magomed Ankalaev next month, but his intentions seem to be heavyweight about something else.
It seems unlikely that it will happen soon, but you can be sure that if 'Poatan' really starts to push it, whether he goes back to 185 pounds or defends his title against Du Plessis, the UFC will take knowledge.
