Alex Pereira has explained the true reason that he went to Australia to make Sean Strickland too angular after being criticized by a few legends of the sport.
With its UFC 313 Headliner against Magomed Ankalaev on March 8, many did not think it was wise to travel nearly 20,000 miles to and from Australia halfway through the training camp. He was apparently in the corner for the loss of Sean Strickland against Dricus du Plessis on UFC 312.
However, he insists that there were other reasons why he had to travel to Australia and notes that he is used to the extensive movement at this stage. Daniel Cormier was one of his most pronounced critics who led to the journey, but he had a number of choice words for his fellow world champion two weight in himself.
Alex Pereira hits Daniel Cormier and critics of UFC 312 trip
Alex Pereira's appearance in Australia To Cornen Sean Strickland was a controversial with many experts. It was believed that it was a poorly advised step to go to and from Australia during the camp, given the serious jet lag and other problems that can arise.
Daniel Cormier was one of the most pronounced critics of the idea, but Michael Bisping was another who expressed concern. However, he insists that he is good at home to travel well and could continue to train around with his entire team at the highest level.
“Sean and I now have a good friendship and many people think that I just went outside to be in his corner,” he told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat as part of his role as an interested ambassador. “But I had these earlier obligations in Australia and it was just finally that it worked for me to be there.

“I heard people say:” Oh, he doesn't even speak English, what difference does it make him there? “But we have the same type of energy, we have the same atmosphere, both fighting in the same company, so there is a lot of good report between us.
“I can say to Daniel Cormier and a couple of other specialists who say that I should not have go outside that I have been in this situation earlier. It was actually even worse when I was in Australia and had registered to fight, but didn't even know I was going to do that.
“This time it was all very planned, I knew what I was going to do. I actually took my whole team down there, I had eight people in Australia with me and we knew exactly what to do, so we all planned it very well.
“Many people talk about traveling and all traveling, maybe it's not the ideal situation. But I feel that I really experience with that and I have done this a million times to be honest. “
Daniel Cormier was concerned about Alex Pereira for UFC 313 Main Event
During an episode of his Show Good Guy/Bad Guy with Chael Sonnen last month, the legendary former former former light weight and heavyweight champion Cormier explained what is most concerned with the coming fight by Pereira.
'Ankalaev is already [in Las Vegas]He is locked up, I met him to the UFC Pi last week, “said Cormier. “To be honest, he is so locked up, ready to win this fight against Alex Pereira, who was in Australia last week, shaking the hand of Drake while he went on stage for his concert …
“What does Pereira still do in Australia? He is fighting in two weeks! I am back from Australia and the entire last week I got up at three in the morning. I don't care that Pereira has weeks to get ready, he will be ready and will be prepared.
“But even those two to three extra days when he adjusts his clock to get back on schedule in Connecticut … he will be confronted with all those trips and all that difference in time. And where is Glover [Teixeira]? Is Glover just in Australia with him? Is it only he and plinio [Cruz]?
“Glover is the man, to be honest, that should do most of the work with Alex at the moment because of [Ankalaev’s] Struggling … Pereira should get home better, he has to come home and lock because he has the most difficult fight of his title government. “
