'Patan' has one big goal to conquer in MMA and he tends to reach where he puts his sights on.
What Alex Pereira was able to achieve since signing at the UFC was just unthinkable when he made his Octagon debut in 2021.
Coming from an incredible kickboxing career, it seemed difficult to imagine how he could develop quickly enough to become a UFC support pillar, let alone a dominant champion.
Pereira is currently ruling with the light heavyweight champion, after he had previously kept the middleweight belt, but his goals do not end there.
'Patan' can currently be aimed at his next defending defense against Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313 next month, but he also does not lose a huge opportunity that could stand for him.

Alex Pereira gives a heavyweight update and chooses Jon Jones to beat Tom Aspinall
At the age of 37, Alex Pereira knew that he would not have long to have an impact on the UFC, but his style and willingness to make rapid reversal made up for that.
By continuing to rule at 205 pounds is one thing, but the Brazilian superstar has also set its sights on conquering another division before he calls time on an easy -to -unparalleled combat sport career.
Pereira's wish is clear to go to heavyweight to challenge the champion, but his long -awaited collision with Ankalaev in Las Vegas has postponed that for the time being.
During a recent interview with Mark Bouris, Pereira spoke by his coach and translator Plinio Cruz about where he is currently with his heavyweight plans.
“There is interest, there is a potential, even Jon Jones has spoken himself and we wanted to do this. We want, now it's up to the UFC to make it happen. “
By the time Pereira is able to go to heavyweight, the division can be in a completely different place.
We still do not know whether interim champion Tom Aspinall gets the chance to try to unite the belts against Jon Jones with 'bones' who repeats that a fight with Pereira is more attractive to him.
When asked to give his thoughts about who comes out in that matchup, “Patan” said that he expects Jones to stay the champion to an opponent who expect many to be a big threat to his almost flawless record.
“I think Jon Jones wins.”
Alex Pereira may still have heavyweight on the table, regardless of what happens at UFC 313
The only result that the step from Alex Pereira could derail to heavyweight is if it is dominated by Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313 that could kill part of the hype.
Even if Pereira loses the title, but his stock does not fall en masse, what it is difficult to imagine that it is happening, he has become such a favorite in recent years that there will still be an enormous question of him in heavyweight to see.
Fighting with Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall would be huge and if there is someone on the Roster who tends to make things happen due to pure, it is the current light heavyweight champion.
Not to mention what can happen if Pereira is able to beat Ankalaev on March 8, so that he would go to heavyweight to challenge the status of the champion.
