After his light heavyweight title loss for Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313, Alex Pereira became the target of his ex-girlfriend.
On Saturday at UFC 313, Alex Pereira tried to defend his light heavyweight title for the fourth time, looking for a record by Jon Jones when he met against Magomed Ankalaev.
Unfortunately for the Brazilian he was dethroned by Ankalaev, who surpassed him in five rounds to become the new champion of 205 pounds.
Pereira received some criticism of his 'non -characteristic' performance, from UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, due to the fact that 'Patan' had been beaten relatively five rounds.

Alex Pereira responds to viral video of ex-girlfriend who celebrates his title loss
If losing his title was not bad enough, the 37-year-old then became the target of his ex-girlfriend, Merle Christine.
To social media, Pereira's ex-girlfriend celebrated his loss and claimed that it was 'karma' that he lost his title.
“We have a new light heavyweight champion. No more Chama, karma. He lost on International Women's Day, maybe that is a sign, guys. New light heavyweight champion, Ankalaev, congratulations, “she said in a video on her Instagram.
“He has done really well, if you call 'theft', you don't understand MMA, so let's not talk about 'theft', that is completely bull … … no more Chama!” She went on.
A similar situation happened in the boxing world at the end of last year when the ex-wife of Dmitry Bivol celebrated his loss for Artur Beterbiev.
However, Pereira was not impressed when he discovered that his ex-girlfriend celebrated his downfall and gave a reaction.
“I think she should stop mentioning my name because her husband would be jealous, Chama,” Pereira commented on the video that went viral.
What is the next step for Alex Pereira after title loss?
Prior to his fourth title defense, rumors were circulating that 'Patan' could go to the heavyweight division to accept the winner of Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall, that is now extremely unlikely.
Despite the fact that, after the event on Saturday evening, UFC boss, Dana White stated that an immediate rematch between Ankalaev and Pereira is probably.
