Fans may get Alex Pereira fight news sooner than they think.
'Poatan' had tremendous success in 2024, defending his light heavyweight title three times on short notice. Pereira destroyed Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 before scoring back-to-back finishes against Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr.
Pereira almost came in for UFC 310 when Belal Muhammad pulled out with an infection. This did not happen, as Pereira explained that he would take some time off to recover. Now Pereira has hinted at his next fight in a short and sweet message to his fans.

“Stay informed. Chama,” Pereira wrote in a post on X. “Chama” is his slogan, which means “let's go.”

There is no indication who it could be, but Pereira has already rejected Magomed Ankalaev. As for other potential challengers, the light heavyweight rankings don't offer much else.
No. No. 2 Prochazka and No. 3 Hill fight at UFC 311, No. 4 Jan Blachowicz fights No. 6 Carlos Ulberg at UFC London, and No. 5 Aleksandar Rakic is on a two-fight losing streak.
Who Alex Pereira could fight next
It's safe to assume that the UFC will only reserve Pereira for superfights. They will try to squeeze the most value out of the 37-year-old ex-kickboxer while he is still winning.
Not only has Pereira hinted at a move to heavyweight in the past, but UFC CEO Dana White claims a secret fight is being organized this year that 'no one will see coming'. Reports of Pereira fighting Alexander Volkov as a heavyweight have been dismissed, but this does not rule out another heavyweight fight.
A Jon Jones fight could be on the cards, with 'Bones' looking to fight Pereira over interim titleholder Tom Aspinall. Additionally, Jones could retire and Pereira could fight Aspinall for the undisputed title.
