The light heavyweight champion of the UFC has spread a number of fans after reading the number on his scale.
Alex Pereira is present for the UFC 312 Fight Week to put Sean Strickland in the work for his middleweight title fight in the main event.
There has been some criticism of the decision of the champion to make the trip to Sydney, Australia when he has other urgent matters to attend.
Next month on UFC 313, 'Patan' will head the T-Mobile-Arena in Las Vegas if he wants to defend the title of 205 pounds against the man who, according to many, is his biggest threat in Magomed Ankalaev.
Pereira's training priorities are temporarily put on hold, while helping his friend and training partner in his Rematch with Dricus Du Plessis in the Qudos Bank Arena.

Fans respond after Alex Pereira weighs 235 pounds during the UFC 312 Fight Week
In a video posted by Alex Pereira on social media, the Brazilian can be seen who steps on the scales for a quick weight control now that he is just over a month after his return to the Octagon.
It is worthwhile to remember that 'Patan' came in the UFC like a middleweight.
He fought five times out of 185 pounds without ever missing the goal, but decided to go up a weight class after losing the title in his Rematch with Israel Adesanya on UFC 287.
With a “Chama” before and after for a good measure, Pereira steps on the scales that read 235 pounds, making it 30 pounds heavier than the light heavyweight championship limit.
“And this guy made 185,” a fan noticed. “How the actual F – he made 185,” cried another.
Light heavyweight is not a problem for Alex Pereira
Although 235 pounds may seem a lot, as different answers to the post indicate, this is not particularly unusual for Alex Pereira.
This even seems to be a fairly normal weight for him that he can consistently reduce before the combat evening arrives.
'Patan' recently appeared in the Ariel Helwani show, where his coach, Plinio Cruz, spoke about why Pereira fits so well with the light heavyweight division at this stage in his career.
“For me I think it's better. He is 37 years old, he is on his prime. He is a kick boxer in the beginning, he is used to fighting regularly. I prefer that he fights more often than having big gaps. '
Not only is the light of heavyweight for him, it sets Pereira as active as he wants to be.
“In this weight he is now, this weight is cut, he can fight every month.”
Alex Pereira and Plinio Cruz share that they could fight every month in light heavyweight 😅
By the way, it seems that Patan takes our big shot home. pic.twitter.com/ogyyk3hrmt
