In an Instagram post after the defeat, he said he was distracted in the fight after a thumb injury, which also meant that he could not defend himself against the guillotine choke.

“Unfortunately, my match did not go well at Octagon 67, it was the worst version I did. Everything started well in the beginning and, according to our strategy, went to an exchange of successes at about 1:30 of the first round that I broke my thumb, this clouded my mind as soon as I realized it.

“I calculated my kick incorrectly and got a blow that surprised me and eventually got a choke that I could not defend with my hithand. Sorry for those who are disappointed in my appearance, I will repair my hand and come back stronger, thanks for your support !!! “

Alex Pereira's Flying Knee Knock -Out changed everything

For the first round of the UFC 268 debut of Alex Pereira, it seemed that it would not work for the former kickboxing.

He was able to get up again after he had been down early, but for the rest of the first, Andreas Michailidis 'Patan' held against the side of the cage with the referee even separating at some point due to a lack of action.

In what some people feared, a massive lower whelWhelming debut and proof would be that Pereira could not hang on the MMA with limited experience, he closed the show before he gave his opponent another chance to grab him.

We still had no idea how successful or huge Pereira would become after a worrying debut in a Hall of Fame career within a few years.
