Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill made a surprising choice for Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev.
Alex Pereira is perhaps the most difficult test of his light heavyweight title that controls Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313. After three successful title defenses in 2024, Peeira drives a lot of momentum in 2025, but also Ankalaev.
Ankalaev earned the light heavyweight title shot after a 13-fighter undefeated series, including recent victories over Aleksandar Rakić and Johnny Walker. He fought for the then vacant light heavyweight belt on UFC 282 against Jan Bachowicz, but the fight went to a majority splinter and the belt remained empty.

During a recent episode of the War Council -Podcast, Hill Pereira vs. Ankalaev.
“I am not f – like Ankalaev … but I do respect what he did as a hunter,” said Hill. “The striking Van Magomed is seriously slept here. I don't believe that Pereira leans back and want to fight out of the pocket, he wants to put the pressure on him and land shots on the outside. The problem is? Magomed is a contradiction.
