Alex Perez is out of his fight on UFC Vegas 109, although the disappointing withdrawal is something that he is used to in his UFC career.
The #8 ranked flying weight would compete against Steve Erceg on UFC Vegas 109 in an undercard fight on the highly modified card on 2 August.
An injury, however, saw Alex Perez withdraw from the fight against Astroboy, which would have been his first fight in more than a year since he lost Tatsuro Taira in June 2024 via injury TKO.
This is not the first, second or third battle of cancellation that Perez has had in recent years, because he is more than used to his fighting that changes the card in the short term, or are completely removed from the map.

Alex Perez had 14 cancellations in six years
It seems that Perez is cursed, because he has constantly postponed fighting, changed or canceled on an alarming regular basis.
Since 2019, the UFC fly weight has canceled 14 fights in some form, for various reasons that are not always up to him.
Six of the withdrawal were due to Perez, with a injury or the missing weight, which delayed fights or completely removed from the card.
Four of them were due to the fact that his opponent was injured, such as his two fights with Askar Askarov who were moved before they were finally canceled, as well as four attacks with Matt Schnell, who were postponed.

Three came because fighters were moved, as at UFC 255 when Cody Garbrandt sustained an injury, so Perez was parachuted in a main event title fight against Deiveson Figueiredo instead of challenging Brandon Moreno on the Undercard.
The most unfortunate, for which nobody is to blame, is Perez's planned 2020 fight with Kai Kara -France. That entire event, as well as many others, was canceled because of the pandemic, a problem that continued to exist all over the world and not just in the UFC.

With his incredible bad luck with his fighting that are canceled, it is no surprise how little time Perez actually spent in the Octagon in those disappointing six years.
He actually managed to fight Mark de la Rosa in the UFC in 2019 and took a victory over five rounds for two more victories in a row in 2020, sandwiched between the canceled Covid fight.
However, the American hunter has only had five fights since then, and only one victory in the midst of an abundance of canceled battles that someone else competes in the history of UFC.
His only victory came in August 2024 and earned a performance of the night bonus by beating Matheus Nicolau with a devastating knockout blow.
That followed three heavy losses, with his last fight in the UFC as his unfortunate loss of injury to Taira in 2024.
With so many problems with injuries and missing weight, it can be time for Perez to investigate whether his MMA career has gone as far as possible.
