Alexander-Arnold keen to join Real Madrid but no deal reached yet

The conversations are claiming between the representatives of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid about his proposed move to the Bernabeu at the end of the season, but no agreement has yet been reached.

Sky Sports News has been told that although there is optimism on both sides, there is still plenty to sort at a possible deal, and there is no guarantee that he will be a Real Madrid player next season.

The Spanish giants have been for long-term admirers of Alexander-Arnold and they have worked on a package to seduce him for almost two years.

With his current deal in Anfield due to this summer, the defender has rejected the chance for a long -term, improved contract to stay in Liverool, and he has made it clear that he wants to leave.

According to the transfer rules, Real (and any other club that wants to approach him) are free to openly negotiate with Alexander-Arnold since January. And although a potential buyer is obliged to keep Liverpool informed and to tell whether an agreement has been reached, that has not really done that.

He is the primary goal of Madrid's primary summer transfer and it is clear that the preference of Alexander-Arnold is to participate in the Carlo Ancelotti team.

However, the negotiations are complex – even more made by the fact that he is a free agent, with the issues of signing costs, image rights, performance bonuses and more, all to be tackled.
