Alexander Isak has told Newcastle that he wants to leave while he wants to explore his options elsewhere, with Liverpool on the attacker after he made glowing comments on the side of Arne Slot
Alexander Isak's earlier comments show exactly why the striker insists on an exit in Newcastle United. Liverpool's goal has told the Magpies that after three years in Newcastle he wants to explore a move to another club under Eddie Howe.
Although she kept related to a Liverpool transfer all summer, a movement seemed unlikely because Newcastle repeatedly made it clear that their star player was not for sale, a no less than £ 150 million demanded for him.
Liverpool then shifted their focus to signing the Frenchman Hugo Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal with a value of a maximum of £ 79 million. Recent developments with regard to ISAK, however, have led the Premier League champions to crush the British transfer record for the second time this summer to secure the Swedish international.
On Thursday morning, it was announced that Isak would be absent during the Newcastle's pre-season tour by Asia because of what was described as a thigh problem. But Isak is supposed to consider his options. In the midst of speculation about his future, HOWE chose to send the Swede home before the pre -season match in Celtic last weekend.
After a striking season where he yielded 23 goals in the Premier League, The Times reported that the representatives of Isak were looking for a new contract worth around £ 300,000 a week. Nevertheless, Newcastle are only willing to offer a maximum of £ 200,000 a week, which may have influenced Isak's decision to look for another club now.
Apart from contract discussions, the striker has previously demonstrated that he is not someone to take the next step for the well -being of his career, even if that movement is considered daring or risky. After his £ 63 million switch to Newcastle in August 2022, he told the official website of the club that this same mentality led him to leave Sweden for Borussia Dortmund at the age of only 17.
Isak explained: “I did not hesitate to leave Sweden, it was just where. In football you never know when the next chance will come, and so you take it. Of course you need time as a young player on the field. If you don't get that, everything you can do is training harder.
“That is what I did, I stayed later, I also trained alone. I knew my chance would come, even if it wasn't there, I knew it would come to another club and I wanted to be ready.”
Liverpool is considered a realistic destination for Isak if he left St James' park this summer, given their recent Premier League success and financial muscles to make the move. Isak itself has also been pronounced about his admiration for the playing style of the Reds.
The Newcastle playing style influenced his decision to become a member of the Noordoost -Outfit three years ago, as he admitted: “There are many parts that should be to make a big decision like this. But I think a big reason is the big project that this club has.
“I have seen how they play – it's very attractive football – and not least the great fans as you can see. [They’re] Very passionate fans, and you can just feel by being here that this city is breathing Newcastle. I am very happy to be here. “
He then compared Liverpool's playing style with Newcastle's after the 2-1 victory in the Carabao Cup final against Arne Slot in March, and said that after he had yielded the winning goal: “I really enjoy the matches against Liverpool, because I think they are not too different for ourselves.
“They are a high-penetrating team and a direct team, which can lead to many counter-oborties. That is the game that I like.”
