Alexander Isak has been associated with a move to Liverpool and Arsenal in the summer transfer window, but he has been told that he does not have to leave Newcastle United to realize his ambitions
Liverpool and Arsenal need Alexander Isak to take matters into their own hands if they want to have the chance to sign the Newcastle striker this summer. According to former Magpies -midfielder Geremi, that is also on the fact that the Swede St James' park does not have to leave to take his career to the next level.
The Gunners, who are on the market this summer for a number nine of the top class, are long -term admirers of Isak. In the meantime, Liverpool has also emerged as potential lovers when they are looking for an upgrade on Darwin Nunez, who is for sale.
However, Newcastle is not under pressure to sell and would only consider having him leave for a fee of more than £ 150 million, De Telegraaf reports.
There has been no suggestion that Isak – whose Eksters contract has to run for three years – really fought for a move.
The player's attitude should change, says Geremi, for one of the top two last season to land the productive 25-year-old.
“First of all, she [Newcastle] Must keep their best players at all costs, “said Geremi, who spoke with Boylesports, who offer the newest club World Cup opportunities.
“I'm not sure if Newcastle would sell Isak for every fee, but it would be a problem if the player would take the decision in his own hands.”
After having won the Carabao Cup earlier this year and qualified for the Champions League, the former Chelsea Midfielder and Cameroon International insists that the Magpies are now at the “the same level” as Liverpool and Arsenal.
Geremi added: “He had a great season and is in one of the largest teams in the world when it comes to financial support.
“The area is all there and I don't think he would win everything by moving to Liverpool or Arsenal. I think Newcastle is at the same level. Newcastle are now contenders to win the Premier League and the Champions League.
“When they got new owners, I said it would cost them three or four years and a trophy to place them in that position and now they are there. They are ready to compete because they are built under Eddie Howe, they have the right finances and they are an attractive proposition for new players.
“New signing sessions will have no doubt about coming to the club this summer and it would not surprise me if they have an incredible season.”
For Arsenal, a deal for Benjamin Seskso or Viktor Gyokeres at this stage seems much more likely. A new number nine is critical when Arsenal seems to go from 'almost men' to winners after three consecutive number two in the Premier League.
In the meantime, Liverpool has already been busy this summer and Bayer Leverkusen Pair Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong is signing. The first has now completed its transfer, which could rise to £ 116 million – which means that the Reds have already broken the British record this summer.
