Alexander Isak has told Newcastle that he wants to leave the club this summer, with both Liverpool and clubs from Saudi Arabia who are interested in signing him
Alexander Isak prefers a transfer to Liverpool this summer above a money-spinning switch to Saudi Arabia.
Newcastle United star Isak has told the Magpies that he would like to leave the club and did not joined the team during their pre-season tour through Asia. The magpies have resigned his absence to 'small thigh injury', but now have to do with a situation they had hoped to avoid this summer.
The Times report that Isak has rejected Newcastle's attempts to bind his future to the club and would like to explore his options about a possible relocation instead. The report adds that Isak would ask about £ 300,000 a week to stay on Tyneside, whereby Newcastle is only willing to extend to around £ 200,000 a week.
Such a contract would make the Swede the best -paid player in the history of Newcastle, with people like Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali who all earn around £ 150,000 a week. Isak currently earns £ 120k per week.
Liverpool has shown their interest in signing ISAK and hope to close a deal to around 120 million, while Al-Hilal, Saudi Pro League side, could offer a stunning wages of about £ 500,000 a week after tax.
Nevertheless, the Times report adds that Isak still sees his future in European football of the highest level, and he would give priority to a switch to Premier League champions Liverpool, even thought that the Reds could not offer Saudi-like conditions.
Liverpool started a busy summer in the transfer market and confirmed the signing of Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt on Wednesday for a first £ 69 million that could rise to £ 79 million.
Ekitike had been a target in Newcastle and rejected a switch to Tyneside three times, but the Liverpool movement for him does not mean that they could not close a deal for Isak. On the contrary, the healthy PSR position of the Reds makes them one of the few European parties that could afford the 25-year-old.
The side of Arne Slot is also expected to attract capital of the sale of various players before the closure of the transfer window, where Luis Diaz is the target of Bayern Munich, Harvey Elliott wanted to look through West Ham and Darwin Nunez by Italian, Spanish and Saudi clubs.
