Alexander Isak has already made his feelings clear about Martin Odegaard, while Arsenal wants to purchase Premier League champions Liverpool and eventually sign the Newcastle striker
Alexander Isak's two-word comments about Martin Odegaard could give Arsenal the lead while they continue their long chase of the Newcastle Forward. The Gunners have been associated with the Swedish striker for years, even before his £ 63 million move to the Magpies of Real Sociedad in 2022.
Odegaard, who was on loan from Real Madrid, and Isak were teammates in Sociedad during the 2019/20 season. The couple saved a strong relationship and next to the field, where Isak even burned his “best friend” in the team.
Isak said together during their season: “We have a very good contact and thrive well together. He is of course that he will be my best friend in the team. He was known as a cult to have him the same.”
The Gunners will hope that Bond will continue to exist because they finally get a deal over the line for their long -term objective. That is not a formality, where Liverpool enters the race to sign the striker, who scored 23 Premier League goals in 2024/25.
The English champions have already spent large on the transfer market this summer and sign the right back Jeremie Frimpong by Bayer Leverkusen for around £ 30 million. In the meantime, playmaker Florian Wirtz has arrived in the city to complete his club record movement with a value of a maximum of £ 116.5 million.
Signing Isak, whose Newcastle contract has to be walked for three years, would be a real declaration of intent for the rest of the Premier League. However, the man himself has already suggested that he would fit into the Reds system under Arne Slot.
Speaking for the Carabao Cup final between the parties, Isak said: “I am really enjoying the matches against Liverpool, because I think they are not too different for ourselves, a highly team and a direct team, which can lead to many counter-reveals, and that is the game that I like.”
Newcastle will of course be desperate to keep their star striker while preparing for their return to the Champions League. Isak spoke to the speculation about his future in March and was without obligation and said: “I think this club can achieve great things. We have to look at one season at the same time and this season we can win a trophy winning, which would be great for everyone.
“My future is nothing I really think about. I have often said that I do a season that I just concentrate on the track, this is probably the worst time to think about something else.”
Arsenal, however, will hope that the prospect to reinvent his relationship with Captain Odegaard will influence the great decision of Isak in their favor.
However, a deal for Benjamin Seskso or Viktor Gyokees looks much more likely at this stage. A new number nine is critical when Arsenal seems to go from 'almost men' to winners after three consecutive number two in the Premier League.
Club Great Thierry Henry recently made his feelings clear for the last time and told the stick to football podcast: “Everyone screamed for a nine, apart from when we win, by the way. If we defeated Real Madrid, we didn't need nine. No, you need a nine.”
