Alexander Volkanovski could lose to Diego Lopes due to one major disadvantage, according to ex-UFC star

Alexander Volkanovski is probably doing everything better than Diego Lopes, except one thing, which could be undone at UFC 314.

Later tonight the icon will roll the dice in the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, US, in what potentially is his last chance to become world champion again.

During his career, the icon gave the fans so many incredible moments. Volkanovski once survived the tightest of Brian Ortega Guillotines, and his confrontation with Max Holloway are the stuff of the legend.

But with his prime potential behind him, the Aussie knows that he has a huge task ahead of him.

Brendan Schaub is terrified of Alexander Volkanovski in Diego Lopes Fight

Brendan Schaub believes that Alexander Volkanovski is a considerably more skilled operator than Diego Lopes.

Although he is convinced that 'The Great' would cruise to victory in his heyday, he is afraid that the Australian might have been rejected enough to open the door for the Brazilian to claim the title.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, the former MMA star said: “Volkanovski is doing everything better than Diego Lopes, in addition to explosive unorthodox movement. Diego Lopes is younger, more explosive, better finish than Volkanovski. But that is the only advantage that he has about Volkanovski.

“When it comes to skill, striking, struggling, struggling, cardio, IQ, experience, Volkanovski destroys him everywhere.

“But Volkanovski is 36 years old. There has never been a man older than 35 to do what Volkanovski is trying. If Alex was a little younger, I would choose him all day. I root for Alex, I want him to win, but it has never been done before.”

Alexander Volkanovski makes shock prediction for Islam Makhachev vs Ilia Topuria

Whether Volkanovski wins the title tonight or not, he only gets the chance because his old rival, Ilia Topuria, made the decision to go to lightweight.

Ironically, 'El Matador' probably seems to be going against each other with one of the previous opponents of the Aussie, Islam Makhachev.

After having shared the cage with both men, the former 145 pound King is in the perfect position to analyze the potential competition.

Now Volkanovski has made a shocking prediction for Makhachev vs Topuria.
