Alexander Volkanovski followed in the footsteps of one Conor McGregor to become UFC champion.
The former UFC-Fedweight King Alexander Volkanovski took an all too well-known way to UFC Gold and defeated the will of Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo and finally Max Holloway to win the title on UFC 245 in 2019.
Those three hunters are the legendary rivals of Conor McGregor, the greatest superstar in MMA and one of the five largest featherweights of all time.
Just like Volkanovski, McGregor fought former UFC title -Plager Mendes in his sixth UFC fight and the legendary Aldo in his seventh.
The similarities do not stop there.

Chad Mendes also gave Alexander Volkanovski a point for his money
The label A 'Mirror Match' because of their 5'6 ″ shape and styles, the #10-ranged Volkanovski stood opposite Chad 'Money' Mendes on UFC 232 on December 29, 2018.
Mendes was able to bring Volkanovski down three times in their fight, although he could not hold the future champion for long. The American found great success in the second round and almost hit Volkanovski with strikes.
Volkanovski was fell with a left hook and put on the foot, a few more shots.
20 seconds later, Volkanovski stood on his ground and landed a beautiful left hook of his own respect that deserved the respect of Mendes.
For the rest of the round, Volkanovski would escape moments of problems on the ground with blood that dripped over his face. The last step for Volkanovski came with less than 90 seconds to go in round 2.

This is where Alexander 'The Great' really began to conquer Mendes, shot in the body and to mix in the head, to wear in the gas tank of his opponent as Conor McGregor did three years earlier in 2015.
A final blow to the body would send the trick for Volkanovski and Sends down for a TKO interruption – 43 seconds faster than McGregor's.
Volkanovski joined McGregor, Aldo and Frankie Edgar as the only other hunters who defeated Mendes in the Octagon.
Interestingly, Mendes gave three of the four bloody cuts in their fights and stepped in as a two -week cancellation period after McGregor's original opponent Jose Aldo withdrew from UFC 189 due to an injury.
McGregor fought against Mendes through early adversity, more on the ground with Mendes scored four Takedowns against him. Mendes recently said that it would have been an 'easy fight' if he had a full training camp.
McGregor, however, absolutely had his way on the feet and grabbed Mendes apart with well -placed stairs to the body and hits the head for a wild finish in the last seconds of round 2 to win interim UFC Gold.
Both their victories against Chad Mendes comparable, there is no fight that had the better performance against Jose Aldo in their next fight as McGregor Ko'ed Aldo in 13 seconds. Volkanovski, on the other hand, defeated Aldo in the Scorecards on UFC 237 in 2019.
Aldo was Volkanovski's last competition fight before his awarded moment against Max Holloway later that year at UFC 245. fast Vooruit 10 fights and Alexander Volkanovski is still in title conflicts.
Volkanovski wants to recover the title of featherweight in the UFC 314 Main Event against top candidate Diego Lopes. The title was emptied by UFC champion, 'Great' Slayer Ilia Topuria.
