Henry Cejudo doubts very much that we get the Alexander Volkanovski from Old on UFC 314.

After more than a year away, the Volkanovski from Australia will try to reclaim what his his, the UFC Vederweight Kroon, in an empty title fight against Diego Lopes next Saturday. Former champion meets the top candidate in the main event of UFC 314 from Miami.

Win, losing or drawing, Alexander Volkanovski goes down as one of the greatest featherweights of all time. Volkanovski is 17-1 in the weight class with several title defenses and wins on Jose Aldo and Max Holloway, his only loss was for Ilia Topuria, who graduated earlier this year.

1-3 In his last four fights, the gray Volkanovski seems to put together another title run on 36.

Henry Cejudo on Alexander Volkanovski: “I don't think it's the same people” …

A week out of the promotion at UFC 314, former two-division UFC champion and Olympic gold medal winner Henry Cejudo was not fired over the title chances of Volkanovski.

Cejudo believes that his best days are behind him after KO losing to Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria.

“I don't think it's the same people,” Cejudo said about Volkanovski in an interview with the Schmo.

“I personally think that Diego Lopes will beat him. I really do it.

“But if Volkanovski manages it, he will get it done. It is not Ilia Topuria that he is going [have to] beat. “

Henry Cejudo predicts Diego Lopes to eliminate Alexander Volkanovski early on UFC 314

A witness to the success of Volkanovski, the way to the title, the five title defenses – Henry Cejudo still cannot shake the feeling that Volkanovski will lose again in recent years as he did to Topuria and Makhakev.

“Volkanovski has done a number of amazing things on 145 pounds, but he has also experienced three losses,” said Cejudo.

“Against the best in the world, but that is still three, and two of the three were knockouts.”

The Brazilian Diego Lopes certainly has a blow with 10 KOs on his record, but which is demonstrably more impressive, is his ground game with 12 entries.

“I think are busy. I think he brings it early,” predicted Cejudo Lopes to stop Volkanovski.

“Volkanovski will eventually give you a distance. You can only run for so long.

'[Diego’s] Really good at the bottom, so if Volkanovski brings him to the ground, this guy, his entry match, was added, “Cejudo added.

“He trains his Jiu-Jitsu for MMA very, very well.”

Diego Lopes has defeated Brian Ortega, Dan Ige and Sodiq Yusuff in a 5-1 UFC-Run that started in 2023.
