Alexander Volkanovski is a leading contender for goat status in the UFC Vederweight Division, but that does not mean that he has achieved all his goals.
The legendary Volkanovski is a little more than a year ago on the throne of 145 pounds after it is not suitable by Ilia Topuria on UFC 298.
After taking a break from the competition, Volkanovski defeated Diego Lopes on UFC 314 in his return last April to regain the crown, which was left for lightweight before the movement of Topuria.
Before the first defense of his second regime, Volkanovski made his preference clear by calling the opportunity to combat the often overlooked Movsar Evloev. And the reasons of the Australian amount to more than just the Russian competition that deserves.
Alexander Volkanovski wants to defeat an unbeaten UFC -Uitdager
During a recent performance on the MightyCast -Podcast by Demetrious Johnson, Volkanovski repeated his hope to share the Octagon with Evloev.
In addition to the prospect of a reinforcing wrestling style with which he still has to fight in the Octagon, 'Alexander the Great' wants to take a title challenger in his UFC career for the first time, especially after he has not achieved the performance against Topuria.
“I'm just going to fight, that's it,” Volkanovski said about his wish to fight Evloev. “But there is so much more, right? There are pay-per-views, who you are, hype around you, how many finishes. We know that, and that's why I have:” I will fight against everyone. “
“But then you ask me who I would be most enthusiastic, it would probably be Movsar in the fact that he deserves it.
“He is unbeaten,” Volkanovski continued. “The last unbeaten guy I lost to, so I have not been able to take someone's zero yet. So there is another reason.”
Movsar Evloev knows what to do to earn a title shot
To dash the hope of Volkanovski to achieve that goal at its expense, Evloev knows his way to the gold.
After repeated snubs of the promotion, Dana White finally told Evloev something to do by revealing that a victory will probably give him a long -awaited title shot.
“Evloev was unbeaten on 19-0 and one of the most intimidating boys on featherweight,” said White. “(Aaron) Pico is a ridiculously violent striker and a very high level of Grappler.
“Pico has had a hype behind him since he was a teenager. … People compare him with Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.
“If Movsar can win, he will probably be the next competition for the title against Alexander Volkanovski.”
