UFC Vederweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski did not leave UFC 314 unscathed.
Alexander Volkanovski recreated the UFC -Fedweight Throne with its amazing performance at UFC 314 last Saturday in Miami. But while he exhausted Diego Lopes to win the empty belt of featherweight, Volkanovski suffered a serious injury in the opening minutes of the fight.
Volkanovski defeated Lopes through a unanimous decision to make a two-fighter loss of Skid on UFC 314. Despite a few scary moments during the fight, including a large knock-down by Lopes, Volkanovski was able to recapture the talented Brazilian and to recapture the Federweight title.
It was a striking version for Volkanovski after many people wondered whether or not he would return to championship form after Knock -Out defeat of Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhakev. But while Volkanovski broke the skid at UFC 314, it was far from a walk in the park for the double champion.

Coach Joe Lopez says that Alexander Volkanovski has a potential broken hand on UFC 314
Volkanovski suffered from vision problems during the battle with Lopes, as he described at the UFC 314 Post-Fight Press Conference. He walked away with both eyes poorly bruised after he had taken some of the most powerful photos of Lopes.
Moreover, Volkanovski is said to have fought with one hand for the most of the fight.
During a recent interview on Submission Radio, coach Joe Lopez claimed that Volkanovski sustained a considerable hand injury only a few minutes after UFC 314.
“He may have broken his hand,” said Lopez of Volkanovski. “We still have to get that X -ray. So he hurt his hand. It was rather in the fight, I think. Alex said nothing after that, it was just at the end, he only said:” Look, I think I have taken my hand. “I can't remember which round.
“He has a bit of a painful foot and only the bumps and bruises after a five -round war with a warrior. You are going to be painful.” (H/T MMA Fighting)
At the moment, the status of the wounded hand of Volkanovsky is uncertain. He could possibly return by the end of the summer, depending on the size of the break.
Top candidate Movsar Evloev responded to the title profit of Alexander Volkanovski
When Volkanovski is ready to defend the title, Movsar Evloev is the likely next title -Uitdager. While he saw how Volkanovski returned the throne on UFC 314, Evloev Volkanovski held against his words after he promised to give him the next title shot.
Evloev has not fought since the beating of Aljamain Sterling on UFC 310 in December. The undefeated Russian has defeated the will of Arnold Allen, then IgE and Lopes.
The victory of Volkanovski won rapper Drake nearly $ 1 million in gambling win, a rare sports book victory for the Grammy Award-winning artist. In the meantime, Paddy Pimblett's victory over Michael Chandler Conor McGregor presented a loss of $ 500,000.
