The North Africans organized the Round 6 -meeting against the G -opponent group who liked to secure all three points. Mohamed Amoura led from the front and raised a sensational version that saw him grab a hat trick for Algeria. With other goals from Aissa Mandi and Jaouen Hadjam, there was little Mozambique to prevent the defeat. The only comfort goal for Mozambique was scored by Geny Catamo in the 40th minute.
Following the example of Algeria's 5-1 lashes of Mozambique, the North Africans climbed to the top of the Group G group with 15 points.
