In Florian Wirtz, Liverpool strives for one of the best attacking midfielders in the world – and that comes from Xabi Alonso, the man who has Bayer Leverkusen -star rated better than anyone else.
Wirtz, 22, is blinded under the direction of Alonso during the time of the Spaniard at the helm in Germany. He was influential in the Leverkusen team that last year won their very first German title under the heading idol and re -played this period, with 16 goals and 15 assists about 45 games in all competitions.
Those impressive returns are the reason why the will of Bayern Munich and Manchester City could implement the German Star before the summer transfer window, whereby the first was even seen as the red -hot favorites to sign him.
But with Bayern who admit the defeat in their attempt to sign Wirtz on the weekend, Liverpool is now in pole position to land him.

Alonso – who becomes Real Madrid's new head coach – is in no way how good Wirtz is after having accurately worked with the playmaker.
