Jack della Maddalena is not worried about changing his focus in Belal Muhammad
During a recent performance at the UFC show of Sky Sports Nieuw -Zeeland, Jack della Maddalena spoke about his first reaction to the fight and how it changed his preparations.
After producing four consecutive first round when arriving at the UFC in 2022, it is certainly no secret that the best characteristic of the Aussie is boxing.
That would have led to a big striking collision against Leon Edwards in the O2 Arena in London, in which Della Maddalena is preparing for the calculated attack of the former champion.
Instead, he now faces a completely different challenge in Belal Muhammad, who, despite the show of clear improvements in his striking, predominantly a wrestling competitor.
This is not about Della Maddalena who stated that it is confronted with grapplers such as the champion is something he has faith in.
'Feel good. Of course different kinds of opponent or different strategy, but I have always prepared for fighting grabs. Belal is someone I have always believed that I could beat, so it's about making the chance and doing my work. “
Della Maddalena does not make the mistake of underestimating his next opponent, and acknowledges that he is the champion for a reason, but he does believe that he will be able to hold the fight in his preferred range.
“He is definitely a difficult man to beat, but I feel that I can surpass him on the feet and then he will try to get me down, but I believe I can get back to my feet and go back to where I have the strong advantage. ”
Keeping the fight where he wants it is much easier said than done for Jack della Maddalena
It does not require an expert analyst to determine that the key to Jack della Maddalena who wins this fight is where he can win the striking battle.
