Amad has shared a message to fans of Manchester United after a painful Euroopa League -Definitive defeat that the club left for an important exodus of the summer transfer
Manchester United star Amad is determined to rectify the mistakes of this season after a low League finish was followed by a Euroopa League final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. United is expected to listen to offers for every team member after missing European football, but the Ivorian does not seem to want to be one of them to leave.
The former Atalanta star has thrown under Ruben Amorim this season, even if others have struggled. He earned minutes among Amorim's predecessor Erik ten Hag, scored some important goals in the past term, but really came into his own under the Portuguese and scored his first United Hoed Trick against Southampton in January.
Amad also signed a contract extension in January, with the new deal holding him in Old Trafford in January. While others may leave this summer, his comments suggest that he is determined to put things right in his current club instead of continuing.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate Tottenham on their victory and then apologize to all Manchester fans around the world,” he wrote on social media. “It has been an unacceptable season and nobody can deny that, but we always put our motivation on the field.
“I promise that a season if this will never happen again in this great club. Thank you all for your support during the season; you have been to our side, no matter what happens.”
United was a large part of the second half of the season without Amad, a period in which their competition results members. An ankle injury kept him out of the 10 consecutive league matches, with the only victories of the club during the run that came against Bottom-Three Zijden Ipswich and Leicester.
The 22-year-old also missed European victories over Real Sociedad and Lyon, but returned to play a role in the semi-final triumph over Athletic Club. Ruben Amorim supported him to start in the final against Spurs, but few of the players of United could claim in a disappointing 1-0 reverse.
Speaking with the media after the defeat, United -Baas Amorim sheds a little more light on what the club can do on the transfer market. “We have two plans, even for the market and we have to understand that it is difficult for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League,” he said.
“But we have to use the other side. If we have more time, we have more time to think, to work during the week and to be better in the Premier League. That will be our focus.”
United has a last Premier League match for them, with Aston Villa who visits Old Trafford on Sunday. The side of Unai Emery needs three points to give itself a chance to qualify for the Champions League, but unlike United, they are at least a form of European football guaranteed.
