Amanda Nunes’ former coach reveals the one scenario for UFC legend’s possible Octagon return

One of the old coaches of Amanda Nunes weighed the potential return of the former Two-Division UFC champion.

Amanda Nunes seemed satisfied with retirement when she left her gloves and belts in the Octagon after beating Irene Aldana on UFC 289. But almost two years after her retirement, she repeatedly plagued a potential return, possibly against a former teammate.

The Bantamweight Division of the UFC ladies is on a stand still because Julianna Peña last year is the title of Raquel Pennington on UFC 307. A time frame for her return to the Octagon is still uncertain, but Kayla Harrison is probably the following for The Bantamweight title shot.

Nunes, generally considered the greatest female MMA hunter of all time, could possibly return later this year. UFC CEO Dana White feels that Nunes retired too early when she was still in the physical prime of her career.

The former coach of Nunes, Din Thomas, says there is one situation that will lure nunes back to fighting.

Din Thomas points to one scenario for Amanda Nunes to return to fighting

During a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani show, Thomas was asked if he believes that Nunes will return to the Octagon and end her retirement.

'At this point? No, I think her window to come back, “Thomas said about Nunes. “I can't see it happening, but it depends on it! When Kayla starts calling, I start talking, I think she's coming back …

“A few months to a year ago, Amanda called me and said:” I want to train again! “… It requires hunger and motivation to be consistent at that level. And it is easy to say it now if you don't train. Sitting on the couch and 'oh I will come back!' training camp, diet … It's hard to get rid of [being with your kids] to work. “

Harrison signed at the UFC last year after a long, decorated term of office in PFL. She defeated Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira in 2024 to catapult the ranking of the bantam weight.

Harrison and Nunes previously trained together in their career at the American top team-Florida. But the two had a tense fight, which led to Nunes who left the gym and took an independent route to training.

Nunes almost broke the internet when she teased a potential UFC recovery in a cryptic video post to social media.

Before she announced her retirement, Nunes won a rematch against PEña at UFC 277 after a stunning upset loss for her at UFC 269. The loss for Peña broke a 12-fighter winning streak, including title wins on Miesha Tate and Cris Cyborg.

Nunes, from this letter, remains the only two-way world champion women in UFC history. As Valentina Shevchenko vs. Zhang Weili will flourish later this year, nunes could be accompanied in the exclusive club.

For now, the potential fight return of Nunes remains uncertain, but we can get more clarity in the coming months, depending on how the Bantam weight division takes place.
