RUBEN AMORIM has been given the green light to make signings this month, with Victor Osimhen on his Manchester United hit list.
The troubled Red Devils boss fears a relegation battle and is desperate for more firepower.
Amorim previously suggested United would have a quiet January window as they try to avoid breaching Prem's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
But he said: “We will try to do something. I'll keep the plan to myself.”
SunSport revealed yesterday that Marcus Rashford is at the center of a £60million swap deal involving Napoli striker Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray.
Napoli chief Antonio Conte is enthusiastic about the 60-cap England man, who has not played for Amorim in United's last five games due to his 'standards'.
Rash, 27, will miss Sunday's titanic match in Liverpool due to “illness”.
Amorim, 39, added: “He must really, really want it.”
The Portuguese is said to be keen to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, whose release clause will drop from £83m to £63m after this season.
It is claimed that Amorim has agreed not to raid his old club until the summer.

But paying the full £83m this month could tempt Sporting to sell.
Amorim are in desperate need of goals to save United's season and keep them out of the drop zone.
He has won just four of his 11 games – including defeats in their last three Prem games – making the worst start for a United boss in 93 years.
And Amorim warned of another slow start at Anfield against United's bitter rivals.
He stressed: “That's a huge problem – you saw it in the first 15 minutes against Newcastle.
“We have to be prepared for a strong start from Liverpool and that means starting strong with the ball.”
