Ruben Amorim feels Manchester United's inability to create opportunities, the main reason for the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund for the goal this season.
Hojlund has only scored two Premier League goals this period and did not find it in his last 16 games in all competitions.
Undoubtedly, it is even more worrying that Hojlund only had 16 shots in the top flight in 2024-25.
Goals are hard to find for United throughout the season, and Amorim is convinced that his team should take responsibility for their shortcomings as a collective instead of blaming individuals.
“I think it's clear, we as a team don't help Rasmus,” Amorim said at his pre-match conference prior to the collision from his side with Ipswich on Wednesday.
“We don't create many opportunities. We have a lack of threat and you can feel it in the games. Sometimes we are in the last third part, but you don't feel that we are a very dangerous team and you also feel it when we defend low and sometimes the opponent is not afraid of transitions. So I also have this feeling as a coach that we don't help the strikers. '
Hojlund came to United for £ 72 million in 2023, but did not have any consistency at Old Trafford in his first 18 months.
Amorim, however, believes that the 22-year-old has the qualities that are needed to succeed and has suggested that the refining of Hojlund's assets will reverse his United career.
He added: 'I think Rasmus has a lot of potential. If we improve the way we play the game, he will have more opportunities to score. He came here very young and if you are young to be no. 9 and play all the time, it is sometimes difficult. It's all together. The context.
'We have to consider Rasmus as a player – he has a pace and he has the technique, he scores some goals that are really difficult to score.
'Sometimes he did not opt for the better run, sometimes he wants to touch the ball so badly because he goes without the ball for many minutes and he leaves the goal he should be, especially in the last third part.
“We deal with that in training and sometimes it must be the trust of the player, but especially the way we play.”
