Bruno Fernandes has been associated with a summer movement to Real Madrid, in which former Manchester United First-Team coach Renee Muelenseen claims that the wish of the player to win and the ability to replace Luka Modric can be the key
The former assistant of Sir Alex Ferguson thinks that Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes “would fit in real Madrid as a glove”. United Baas Ruben Amorim has insisted that Fernandes will not go anywhere this summer, despite the fact that the Spanish giants will be associated with a £ 50 million for the Red Devil Captain this summer.
Renee Meulensteen, who had two spells in United, including six years as a coach in the first team that worked under Ferguson, said that the 30-year-old playmaker Fernandes fits perfectly with the Bernabeu.
Despite Amorim's attitude, Meulensteen said that Fernandes would go directly to Bernabeu -stars Kylian Mbappe, Vinicis JR, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham.
“I think people sometimes question how Fernandes likes to convey his feelings,” Meulensteen told Poker firm. “But one thing for me is certain – he is an absolute winner.
“He plays all the matches, he is never injured, and he is very dedicated to United and wants the best for the club. Every football player has ambitions. I am sure he wants to win trophies for United, but if a team like Real Madrid would come true for him in the summer, he would like a glove there.
“Luka Modric quickly becomes 40 and Madrid needs someone in midfield with that kind of passing range that Rodrygo, Vinicius JR and Mbappe can deliver. With the passing reach of Fernandes, Real Madrid would be incredible and their forward line would get even better.”
Meulensteen also thinks that United made a large blunder to lose winger Anthony Elanga. Elanga, sold by United to Nottingham Forest in 2023 for £ 15 million, came back to chase his old club with the winner in the 1-0 victory on the city.
Meulensteen believes that United was wrong to let Elanga go and claimed winger Alejandro Garnacho – for whom he has made way – does not have the character or personality to succeed at Old Trafford.
“I have never been sold at Alejandro Garnaacho, to be pretty honest,” said Meulensteen. “I think there is sometimes a matter of personality and character. Anthony Elanga, on the other hand, his performance [in the 1-0 win] is exactly what you want to expect from a winger of Manchester United – strong, direct, powerful, full of confidence and hiring players.
“I always thought that Elanga showed that glimpse when he played for United, but the club closed the door and his career started again in another club.
“You really have to question the decision -making process to let players go, because there have been a few who have slipped.”
