Ruben Amorim has insisted that the Europa League is 'so much more difficult' than the Champions League.
This season, United offers to win the second -class competition of Europe, which makes them eligible for the Champions League next season – something they will not do through the competition position.
After they have taken the League phase unbeaten, the Red Devils drew 1-1 on Thursday evening with Spanish side Real Sociedad in the first stage of their last 16 collision.
That is why they have to win the return bone in Old Trafford next week if they continue to the quarterfinals, but first have a Premier League match against Arsenal on Sunday to contend.
Amorim spoke before the game, for which his side had three days to prepare instead of Arsenal's five after they defeated PSV 7-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
And that is, according to the United Boss, which makes the Champions League easier.
“I think the biggest problem is not to have all players, because people talk about our rotation in the beginning – especially in Europe, we always change,” he started. 'This is because of this, because it is really difficult, and in my opinion the Europa League is so much more difficult than the Champions League.
“Not the matches, but the recovery to play Premier League at the weekend, so we have to deal with that.”
Arsenal placed seven past their Dutch opponents thanks to strikes of six different players, just a few days after they had failed to score a Premier League match for the second consecutive game.
If they had played on Wednesday, they would still have had an extra day to prepare, with Europa League matches that were almost always played alone on Thursday.
Teams playing in the Champions League on Wednesday can play on Saturday, which means that they have three days to prepare for matches – the same as Europa League parties that play in the Premier League on Sunday.
This weekend United, Chelsea and Tottenham will all play on Sunday because of their involvement with the Europa League and Conference League this week.
United is currently 14th in the Premier League table, but can slip to as low as the 16th if the results go against them this weekend.
