Manchester United -boss Ruben Amorim gave fans an update about Harry Maguire's fitness after the defender was deducted during the Manchester Derby on Sunday.
Maguire started the game in Old Trafford, but was replaced by Victor Lindelof in the 58th minute.
Before the game, Amorim had explained that the minutes of the Center-Rug were managed after returning a calf injury.
And there were some worries when he seemed to show some discomfort when he left the field.
Amorim, however, confirmed that the replacement was planned before the game started and Maguire should be in order for Thursday's quarterfinals with Lyon.
In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, Amorim said: 'Harry Maguire had just allowed the medical department to play for 60 minutes, so he is fit and ready to go. So we have to be careful. '
The boss repeated this attitude in another interview after the game and clarifies: 'No, it's not an injury, it's just [that] We had a time when we could use Harry without any danger.
'We can no longer lose players, we have to try to divide the moments between the players. We have a very important competition on Thursday. '
And with Mutv he said: 'Just manage [him]. After 60 minutes, 55 minutes is a risk and we cannot risk a player at the moment. '
De Ligt will hopefully be in the fight to return soon, but Ruben told Mutv before the kick -off: 'Matta, he has an injury. Let's see how long it will take. '
After the game, it was also asked after the game about Mason Mount, who came back from the bank on Sunday, and Kobbie Mainoo and whether they could perform against Lyon.
“We'll see,” Amorim explained. 'Mason Mount is ready to do what we want. Of course we have to look at the minutes. Kobbie Mainoo trains with us, we want to be careful again with our players, but maybe he will be in our team. '
