Amorim: ‘It’s a fight every day’ to turn Man Utd fortunes around

Ruben Amorim acknowledges “It is a fight every day” to get Manchester United back on track and admits “It is really difficult to face the fans” during the team's struggles.

The Portuguese have supervised only four wins of 13 Premier League matches since replacing Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford Dugout in November.

Man Utd has left in 13th place, 12 points behind the sixth place Newcastle United and above Leicester City in the 18th.

Amorim, whose side says Tottenham on Sunday in 14th place, says that the pressure he is under “an honor” is, but also “tiring”.

“It's ups and downs. It is a fight every day, with everything – with a lot of media – then you have to play a lot of games,” he told Sky Sports.

“If you are in this club – in a club – but in this club, if you can't put in a row in a row in a row, you always fight. That can be tiring, not just for me, for everyone In the club and for the players.

“We have to keep fighting and only focus on the little things, and for me the little thing is the next game.”

Amorim said that the most difficult part of his work is confronted with the supporters of United during a difficult time for the club, both on and next to the field.

“If you have that feeling with the funerals of Denis Law and Kath [Phipps, the club’s popular former receptionist]The monument for Munich [air disaster]To face the fans at this kind of moment, for me, is really difficult, “he added.

“They are so nice, and they believe a lot in what we are trying to do, they feel that I want to help the club. It is really difficult to face the fans, but I do everything to help my players and the club To return to that position.

“It will take a lot of time – and people are fed up with that of many coaches here. We are in a very, very difficult situation, but we have to continue.”
