Amorim not expecting to be given time at Man Utd like Arteta got at Arsenal

Ruben Amorim says that Manchester United will not give him the time that Mikel Arteta Arsenal had to turn around.

United -Guard Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday – Live on Sky Sports – 14th sitting in the table after a disastrous start for life as a head coach for Amorim has seen him take 18 points of a possible 48.

Arteta also had a tough start as Arsenal -Baas in the competition, so he did not qualify for the Champions League three seasons in a row before they turned the Gunners into title candidates.

But Amorim, adopted in the middle of the season of sporting, despite his request to participate in the summer, do not expect to be the same as arteta by the bosses in Old Trafford.

“I will not have the time that Arteta had. I feel that. It's another club,” said Amorim.

“The way Arteta dealt with is an inspiration for everyone. I will not have the time as Arteta had.”

The United season is now based on their success in the Europa League and the second stage of their round of 16 draw against Real Sociedad next Thursday.

They have two days less than Arsenal to recover after the 1-1 first legs in Spain on Thursday.

Asked if he could let players rest for Sunday's game, Amorim added: “If you are in this kind of club, you can't think so with a small team at the moment.

“We try to see all players who are fresh and do not run the danger to get injured. Even we have to risk that a bit, but we have to be competitive on Sunday.”

He added: “In my opinion, Europa League is so much more difficult than Champions League. Not the matches but the recovery and then play in Premier League during the weekend [after playing Thursday]. “

Amorim is not sure about the fitness of defender Harry Maguire and midfielder Manuel Ugarte prior to Arsenal's visit after they have missed the draw against Sociedad with injury.

“We have to survive on Sunday,” said Amorim. “The team was so tired in the last 30 minutes [against Sociedad]. We have to prepare on Sunday and then think about this important game for us.

'I don't know at the moment [about Maguire and Ugarte]. “

Amorim was unable to call in a teenage striker Chido Obi in Spain after the club was not registered in their Europa League team for the knockout phase.

But the 17-year-old will be involved in the match against the former club Arsenal, which he left in the summer for concern about a clear path to the first team.

“Everyone can start. When they train [on Friday]when they play[ed against Sociedad]They can be ready. Chido is on the list, “said Amorim.
