Amorim offers first-team chance to £500k Man Utd signing after transfer decision

Manchester United have recalled three goalkeepers from loan spells and plan to use Elyh Harrison as part of their first-team squad.

The shot-stoppers had all moved elsewhere to get regular playing time but have since been returned to Old Trafford ahead of what could be a very active month for the club, who are open to bids for ANY player in a bid to raise funds to collect.

Harrison was on loan in non-league with Chester. The 18-year-old has kept nine clean sheets in 23 appearances and is expected to feature in the first-team squad when he plays for the Under-21s, the Daily Mail reports.

The teenager has been the subject of much thought and cost the Premier League club £500,000 when they signed him from Stevenage. He has had plenty of first-team prominence in the past, with Harrison featuring in the side in several pre-season friendlies last summer, although he was not part of the US tour.

United could see movement between the sticks through January. Andre Onana is the club's number 1 but outside of him, decisions still need to be made with substitute Altay Bayindir still seeing his minutes limited, while Ruben Amorim remains unconvinced by the Turk, beaten from a corner last month in the Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham.

The new man in the dugout now wants a shot-stopper who can push the Cameroonian, while Bayindir is not considered credible competition.

The other goalkeepers recalled by Manchester are Farsley Celtic's Tom Wooster and Runcorn Linnets' Tom Myles, but they appear below Harrison in the pecking order.

The doors could be about to open for several young players in the red half of Manchester as the club considers cashing in on some of their valuable assets. It is clear that young stars Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are now expendable, despite being considered untouchable under Ten Hag.

In addition to these three stars, the club is said to be open to serious offers for anyone from Amorim's squad, without any player being left out this month.

Mainoo and Garnacho are considered homegrown players, having come through the United Academy, and that would be particularly valuable sales in the age of profit and sustainability rules.
