Ruben Amorim felt Manchester United controlled the EFL Cup semi-final at Tottenham despite losing 4-3, but insisted even silverware would not solve the club's problems.
United trailed 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before capitalizing on two Fraser Forster errors to unnerve the hosts.
Amorim was happy with the reaction of his players and believes he will learn a lot from the match, but emphasized that his team still has a lot to improve.
He told Sky Sports: “We disconnected at the start of the second half, which was difficult.
“If you look at the whole game we were the best team but they were more clinical. We lost, but the boys' fight was very important to me.
“We have to think for an evening and tomorrow we will get a lot of good things from this match.
“We can't think in that way that winning silverware will make everything right. It will be a long road, we are improving. Our aim is to win the Premier League. How long it will take, I don't know. “

Marcus Rashford was left out of the matchday squad for the second successive game in a week as he claimed he was ready for a “new challenge” away from the club.
However, Amorim believes Rashford could have a future at United and expects him to feature in Sunday's Premier League match against Bournemouth.
He said: “Tomorrow we have training, he will be there to prepare for the next match.
“He is a United player. Everyone has a future at Manchester United.”
