Ruben Amorim insists that stopping is not an option at Manchester United, but has divided the responsibility for their struggles for themselves prior to the Premier League trip from Friday to Chelsea.
United could be forgiven that they have one eye on the Europa League final next Wednesday against Tottenham, with the winner securing Champions League football next season.
Europe has given a welcome distraction for Amorim, whose side 16th is in the table and only one point and a place better than their last opponents traces.
However, the Premier League has been less forgiving, with United Windless in their last seven top matches in the midst of another version campaign.
Amorim, however, says that he is in the fight for the long -term battle.
“I am far from stopping,” Amorim said on Wednesday when the resignation was brought to his press conference.
“What I say is that I always talk about the standards here.
“I have a clear plan of what to do. I understand the problems of the team.”

A trip to Stamford Bridge could make it without victory of eight competition, and Amorim recognized the threat that could give their boring form on his term of office at Old Trafford.
“We have to act or otherwise [Man Utd’s board] Will change us. That's a normal thing. That was my feeling, and it is still my feeling today, “he went on.
“I am the manager of this big club. Even if it is a competition for the season, we have to win.”
A desire to win can be music in the ears of the fellow-Five opportunities of Chelsea, with the side of Enzo Maresca fifth but on points on points with the sixth placed Aston Villa on the way to the penultimate matchday.
Nottingham Forest is also only one point back from Chelsea, who had Nicolas Jackson sent to Newcastle United in a 2-0 defeat, the last time that the three-game Winning Run of the Blues ended in the competition.

Match forecast – Chelsea Win
Lowly United was overlooked by the Opta Supercomputer, because of their boring shape and the impressive head-to-head record of Chelsea in this luminaire.
United has indeed won only one of their last 11 Premier League matches against Chelsea (D5 L5), a 2-0 victory in February 2020 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Chelsea is also undefeated in all nine of their top matches so far in 2025 (W7 D2), earns the joint points (23) and gives the least goals (7) at home of each Premier League side this calendar year.
That is in stark contrast to United, whose seven-game Winless Run in the competition in the competition marks their longest streak since 11 without victory between December 1989 and February 1990.
Maresca will also be hopeful for a strong finish at Stamford Bridge, since Chelsea has not lost their last home competition match in one of the last 22 seasons (W15 D7), since a 3-1 defeat against Villa in 2001-02.
In that case, a Chelsea victory seems likely, although they have only won one of their last 14 Premier League matches against United (D8 L5). That was a 4-3 victory in this exact game last season.
