Amorim reveals Amad Diallo could return BEFORE the end of the season

Amad Diallo was able to make his comeback from injury before the end of the season, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim unveiled.

Diallo was excluded for the rest of the campaign after damaging ankle nigguents in the training last month and undergoing surgery.

The injury was an enormous setback for United after the Ivory Coast International emerged as an important player in the Amorim system and scored six goals among the new Portuguese coach.

But Amorim has called for the hope that Diallo could return before the end of the season at the end of May after good progress in his recovery.

“We will see Amad last month,” said the United Boss prior to Sunday's collision with Arsenal in Old Trafford. “I don't want to say anything, but I have the hope of having Amad before the end of the season. Let's talk about Sunday and we'll see. '

After having only had five outfield players on the bench for the Europa League -similar game on Thursday evening with Real Sociedad, Amorim does not expect anyone back to Arsenal.

Mason Mount, however, is approaching a comeback after he has not played since the Manchester Derby in mid -December, and Amorim believes that his other injured players such as Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Luke Shaw will also be back with the exception of Lisandro Martinez who is for the season.

Amorim added: 'Lisandro is out. Kobbie can return. Maguire, we must be careful. Manu will return. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can also return. They will definitely return, especially Mason Mount. '

Amorim has to decide whether he wants to start Chido Obi against Arsenal after the teen -striker was not eligible against Sociedad. The goal drought from Rasmus Hojlund took place in his 21st hour in San Sebastian and De Dane also rowed on the field with teammate Diogo Dalot.

“Everyone can start,” said Amorim. 'If they train tomorrow, if they play today, they can be ready – and Chido is on the list so that he can play.

'If you are in this kind of club, you can't think that way (about rotation) with a small team at the moment. We try to see all players who are fresh and who are not in danger of getting an injury. Even with that we have to risk a little, but we have to be competitive on Sunday. '
