Ruben Amorim has been warned that he is being confronted with a tough task that attract new recruits for Manchester United, because the club is no longer a desired destination.
A former United Star delivered the brutal judgment around the same time as it turned out that the Premier League giants could miss Viktor Gyokeres this summer. The Swedish striker is strongly connected to a move to Old Trafford after he had previously worked closely with Amorim in Sporting Lisbon.
According to The Sun, however, Gyokeres would like to play in the Champions League, with a large stumbling block for United, which is currently Kwijnt away in the lower half of the Premier League table. They could still be eligible by winning the Europa League, but that looks a big task, especially after the 1-1 round of Thursday from 16 first leg to Real Sociedad.
The 26-year-old probably has an abundance of other options on the table after scoring no fewer than 37 goals in just 39 games for his club so far this period.
And former Red Devils goalkeeper Ben Foster, who played for the club for five years, now believes that the chaos on and next to the field at Old Trafford could scare more potential signing sessions.
The former Scotstopper of England and Wrexham suggested that Amorim has a long, uphill battle, while striving to make the right additions that match his favorite 3-4-3 system, which describes the situation in United as “carnage”.
“They (United) have all kinds of problems,” he said Hayers. “I don't know if it is the worst or the off -throw on Pitch -Spul. I have no idea and I don't think someone in the football club really knows what's going on. It is a massacre and a complete rebuild is needed.
“I don't know how they are going to do it, because it will not be an easy solution either. It will be a long, slow process. If you look at some of the teams above them in the Premier League, they are for Man United for years.
“It is going to take a long time to recruit the players he wants and they will not necessarily want to come to the club. It will not be their first choice, which is really crazy. If you talk about Man United in recent years, they will not be the first choice anymore.”
United was missing this season, because Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee did not regularly deliver for the goal. Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and frontman Liam Delap from Ipswich Town belong to the other goals with which they are linked because they want to improve their count.
