Ruben Amorim warned his players that Manchester United 'should take all heat' after a stump to another Premier League defeat.
United was beaten 4-3 in Brentford while they continued to struggle in their own country despite the fact that they go to the edge of the Europa League final, and Amorim accepts that it is a trend that cannot continue.
“This kind of season, we have to change that, they have to understand what Manchester United should play,” he said. 'They must understand that this season is really important, we can no longer do this.
“So we have to take all the heat. We are currently losing matches in the Premier League. We want to be competitive. It is really difficult, but we do our best. '
Amorim has made eight changes to protect players against injuries before the semi-final second stage against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday and appointed United's youngest Premier League-Up ever.
But Mason Mount, whose second competition goal for United was one of the positive points, it insisted that this was not an excuse.
“There were changes, but it is Manchester United, so every team that goes outside is that the shirt is on that we have to perform and win games,” said Mount.
“We have to do better. We have to win this game. I know there is a big game on Thursday, but in the first place was today. The (the comeback) was too late when they scored four.
